Privacy Policy
The Husband App is operated by Nucleus Family App LLC.
The Husband App ("we," "us," or "our") provides a household coordination application that helps couples and families manage their calendars, tasks, and shared goals. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using The Husband App at nucleus.family, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to operate The Husband App.
Account information
- Your name, email address, and profile photo from Google Sign-In
- A unique account identifier issued by Firebase Authentication
- Your chosen display name and household role
Household and content data
- Tasks, goals, events, notes, and other content you create
- Family member profiles you add (Team Members, Role Players, Mascots)
- Capacity check-ins, weekly recaps, stars given and received
- Household membership and invite codes
Google integrations
- Google Calendar (read and write): We read events from the calendars you authorize so we can show them in The Husband App, and we create, update, and delete events on your Google Calendar to keep it in sync with the changes you make in The Husband App. For example, when you add, edit, or delete an event in the app or by text message, that change is reflected on your Google Calendar. We only make calendar changes that result from your actions in The Husband App.
- Google Tasks (read & write): If you connect Google Tasks, we read your tasks to import them and write changes back when you complete, edit, or delete them in The Husband App.
- OAuth access tokens are held in your browser session and used only to communicate with Google's APIs on your behalf.
Technical data
- Basic device and browser information
- App usage events (e.g., features used, errors encountered)
- Timestamps for syncs and check-ins
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate The Husband App application
- To sync your calendar and tasks with the services you've authorized
- To share data among members of your household
- To compute weekly reports, balance metrics, and recaps
- To diagnose issues, improve reliability, and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train machine learning models. We do not show you third-party advertising.
3. How Your Data Is Shared
Content you create inside a household (tasks, events, goals, notes, check-ins, stars, recaps) is visible to other members of that household. This is the core function of the product — you're sharing a workspace with your partner.
We share data with the following service providers:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Hosting) — stores your account, content, and household data
- Google APIs (Calendar, Tasks) — only when you authorize the integration
- Vercel — hosts The Husband App web application
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — powers the optional text-message assistant; receives your assistant message and a brief current-day household summary, only when you use the assistant (see Section 5)
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to investigate fraud or security issues. We will never sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy
The Husband App's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of The Husband App.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the application, comply with the law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to users.
- We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent, it is necessary for security purposes, to comply with the law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations.
When you use the text-message assistant, any Google-derived information included in the day summary we send to our AI provider (such as the title and time of an event synced from your Google Calendar) is limited to what is necessary to provide that user-facing feature, is not used for advertising, and is not used to train AI models — consistent with the Limited Use requirements above. See Section 5 for details.
5. AI Assistant and Subprocessing
The Husband App includes an optional text-message assistant. When you choose to text the assistant, we use a third-party AI provider — Anthropic, the maker of Claude — to interpret your message and help carry out what you asked (for example, drafting a reply, or adding an event or task).
What we send to Anthropic
Only when you text the assistant, and only to handle that specific request, we send:
- the text of the message you sent; and
- a brief, current-day summary of your household so the assistant can respond usefully — your household name, the display names of your household members, and your day at a glance: today's events (including events synced from your Google Calendar), your top tasks, and any overdue items.
We do not send your Google credentials, OAuth tokens, email address, or your full calendar — only a compact summary of the current day, not a copy of your Google account data.
Why we do this
This processing is what powers the conversational assistant: it lets The Husband App understand your request, draft a natural reply, and take the action you asked for.
Not used for AI training
Anthropic does not use data submitted through its commercial API to train its models, and we do not use your content to train AI models. Your messages are not used to build or improve any general-purpose AI.
Protection and retention
Data sent to Anthropic is encrypted in transit. It is used only to generate a response to your request and is not retained by Anthropic beyond processing that request. No human reviews your messages as part of this feature.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and household data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information and content from our active systems within 30 days. Backups may persist for a limited additional period before being overwritten in the normal course of operations.
7. Your Choices
- Revoke Google access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
- Edit or delete content directly inside The Husband App.
- Leave a household from the Settings screen.
- Delete your account by contacting us at support@nucleus.family.
8. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, scoped database rules, and authentication via Google. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take our responsibility seriously.
9. Children
The Husband App is intended for adults managing a household. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Users
The Husband App is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to your information being processed in the United States and any other country where our service providers operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
